I worked in my previous phd advisor's lab, so there was no interview.I just asked my adivsor if he is willing to support me for another year. He is satisfied with my phd work and he wants me to lead the team to explore further in current research. So he immediately let me stay here.

Easy and friendly. They asked some questions about my research and future plans. Might need to prepare my computer skills for data analysis. It was not hard and got the offer and accepted. the salary was higher than others

Interview
The whole process took two weeks. Firstly I got a phone call interview. After that, I was flied to Chicago to have an onsite interview, which took one day. During on site interview, I gave a oral talk and meet director, PI and other lab personnels. Overall, it is a nice process and no stress at all. Everyone looks very nice.
