Applied via a recruitment agency. Got interview invitation in less than a week. The first round is a video call with an engineer over CS fundamentals and object-oriented programing, which touches a bit of Java knowledge. The interviewer was very supportive and left me a good impression. The on-site interview was scheduled in less than a week after the first round. The on-site interview consists of three stages: a classic whiteboard algorithm & data structure test, a web system scalability case study, and a general cultural fitness discussion with the hiring manager and the team lead. Overall the interview process was efficient and well-organized. I am particularly impressed by how little time was wasted. In the end I chose an employer in a different industry, but I will consider TripAdvisor again in the future.
