      Applications Developer Interview

      14 Nov 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Eagan, MN
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Eagan, MN)

      Interview

Was contacted through their college recruitment program. Spoke with a representative on campus, followed up with a phone interview and on-campus interview. Was invited to a half-day group event at their Eagan campus. The day consisted of informational sessions and interviews with an array of employees (all technical, all but one of the people I spoke with were programmers). They're expanding and it shows, the whole process seemed very focused on attracting good candidates rather than screening bad ones.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

This depends entirely on who interviews you, since they seem to just pluck employees at random. In my case: A few basic questions to make sure you're not lying on your resume, but nothing scary. Interviewers seemed much more interested in feeling me out with technical conversations than grilling over details.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Gdańsk) in Feb 2024

      Interview

Very friendly environment and no need to be afraid they are sweet and good people. Just be well prepared and one can easily get the job for sure. Third round might be a little difficult.

      Question 1

They asked me some technical questions. And some teams or some things!

      Applications Developer Interview

      15 Jul 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Toronto, ON
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Toronto, ON) in May 2018

      Interview

When I applied I heard back initially from Thompson Reuters’ recruiter within about 2 weeks if I remember correctly. They had a HackerRank test that took an hour to complete with questions about C# (the language needed for the position). There were 13 questions, 10 multiple choice and 3 coding exercises. The multiple choice ones increased in difficulty but nothing too overly complex. The coding ones were definitely a good challenge. After submitting he test I heard back from the recruiter. She was quite flexible for it initial first call time and provided me a lot of information about the position, the team structure, the project that I would be potentially working on if I was successful. I was told about about the interview process from the get go. Three calls in total: the first one with the recruiter, the second with a senior developer going over experience, design patterns, App life cycle, delivery process the technical interview basically of the whole process. The last interview was with the Engineering manager and another senior developer. This interview was less technical and went through over the scope of the project and some common behavioural interview questions. All in all the whole interview process from receiving the HackerRank test to receiving an offer took about a month and a half roughly. I must admit, the Thompson Reuters team were very patient and professional throughout the whole process, communication was very clearly and done in a timely matter. It has been one of the most rewarding and pleasant interview experiences I’ve had. Honestly speaking even if I didn’t receive an offer. I encourage the team to continue doing what they’re doing now.
