SIgma said they were looking for someone with a consulting background, which I have 10+ years of, including delivery management. After 6 rounds of interviews, Sigma said I was unqualified because I came from a consulting background. That’s right, I was unqualified because I was what they were looking for.
If people who come from the opposite side of the partner relationship are unable to police and keep partners accountable and resolve critical issues that come up in their projects with customers, then why interview me at all, much less 6 rounds? It was clear from the very beginning that I came from the “opposite side of the partner relationship.” It’s like saying a teacher can’t become a principal because they came from the “other side of the relationship”. There was nothing ambiguous about it. They clearly stated it is what they were looking for in each of the 6 interviews.
What a colossal waste of my time and energy
as well as the time and energy of all the Sigma employees who had to waste their valuable time interviewing me. Apparently Sigma isn’t too concerned with efficiency, or they just don’t value their employee’s and potential employees’ time.
