Initial chat with the internal recruiter. They passed me onto the next round with two senior engineers. I asked the internal recruiter for some preparation notes ahead of time and they did not provide me what to expect in the interview. I was only told it would be virtual and I must have my camera on. I attended the virtual interview and two engineers joined the call. Neither of them turned their cameras on and made the process incredibly awkward for me. They started asking me behavioral questions, which I answered well. They then went into coding exercises and asking me to fix and walk through issues, most of which I was not prepared for. In fact, one of the engineers said, "these are pretty easy and straightforward questions". Considering I was caught off guard, they were not easy and actually created a lot of uncomfortableness and awkwardness. After the interview concluded, I contacted the internal recruiter. No updates for a week, to which they emailed and said "after careful consideration", blah blah blah...which we all know is an honest crock of crap. Every single step of this process was unorganized, disrespectful to my time, a major lack of empathy of the stress of interviewing, and just a nightmare overall. If this process is just a small piece of how employees are treated at this company, I'm pretty sure I should be lucky not to have gotten a job here. They don't value you as a human, they look at you as a number, as a thing that needs to get work done. If you are not that, you are overlooked.
