      Software Engineer Interview

      1 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Resolver in Apr 2026

      Interview

Interviewer was late and had had to message to change the time right before, and to bring someone in for an interview, you should check their resume. If you feel like they don't have enough experience then don't waste our time. Making us follow up with you to get a rejection to be told that you went with more experienced candidates is something you could of done by looking at the resumes you had. Not respectful of my time at all

      Software Developer Interview

      10 Nov 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Resolver

      Interview

I was contacted by one of their recruiters, and completed a (quite easy) technical take-home assessment which wasn't too long, so that was one positive part of the process. The in-person interview, however, was not a positive experience for me. While framing it as a "casual conversation about technology", it was in reality a trivia question type interview, asking specifics about certain technologies and very specific intricacies/nuances of technologies you may or may not actually run into while working with the technologies extensively. The interviewers also seemed very low energy, as if they were burnt out, but also just generally quite impersonal and gave me the impression they didn't like their jobs very much. The workflow as they described it also sounded quite tedious and robotic, so I'm not surprised.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions on very specific nuances of the technologies used.

Thank you for your feedback on our interview process! Our team likes to dig deep with candidates on their understanding of technologies so hopefully you can appreciate their rigour! We know we have room for improvement when it comes to how we interview so your input will be taken into account as we upskill our interviewers on their approach.

      Software Developer Interview

      6 Feb 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Toronto, ON
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Resolver (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2021

      Interview

The interview process was engaging and transparent, and the recruiter ensured the right expectations were set on both side. I got to learn a lot about the team, the organisation's culture, and more information to prepare me for the role.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Several qualitative questions on Node & Postgres internals, database optimization techniques and UI development fundamentals.
