I was contacted by email for an on-site interview (no phone screen). The company is small enought that the HR Director has the same last name as the president (male / female) so most likely a husband and wife team. I was being interviewed to assist the "team" (one person) in writing very nested Sequel queries.
As soon as they realized that I had not worked for some years coding in SQL, it was obvious that they were no longer interested. This struck me as odd since the position was posted on a campus job board AND they were only looking to pay $35K a year. A concern was expressed if I would find the work boring since they had high turn over
-- the last employee left after being their for 2 years.
Neither of the people doing the interviewing had a computer science degree. Documentation is consider superfluous for their programs which are infamous for deeply nested
