I applied through other source. I interviewed at Pebl (Toronto, ON) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was straightforward and everyone I met was professional, friendly, and respectful. The process included a recruiter screening, a hiring manager interview, a system design interview, and a live coding session. Communication was good throughout most of the process, but I never received a final update after completing the interview loop. I later noticed the position had been reposted, so I assumed they decided to move forward with other candidates. Overall, I enjoyed meeting the team and learning more about the company. My only criticism is the lack of clarity and closure at the end of the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Expect questions about your past projects, along with assessments of your knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming, and system design, particularly event-driven systems.
The process was pretty straightforward: an initial recruiter screen, followed by a portfolio review with a designer on the team, and then an app critique with the hiring manager. The portfolio review focused on my end-to-end design process and project outcomes, while the app critique assessed my product thinking, UX evaluation skills,.
Bad experience with this interview process. The interviewer joined over 7 minutes late, and the originally scheduled guy wasn't able to make it. The interviewer was unresponsive and lacked enthusiasm, and the entire interaction felt disengaged.
I was only aware it would be a coding interview, with no details about the environment or specific requirements. I was asked to implement a simple CRUD todo app using Node/Express. There was little to no communication during this process.
The interview was unstructured and unprofessional, and gave a bad impression.
