      Transition Specialist Representative (TSR) Interview

      4 May 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Phoenix, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Phoenix, AZ) in Apr 2022

      Interview

I was interviewed by the hiring manager and the regional manager at the same time so it felt like a panel interview. The interview was very formal; direct questions and answers. No casual discussion or chit-chat. Using the STAR or ATOLA method was helpful. Also, doing a fair amount of research along with prep work to effectively translate current duties to what would be useful for the TSR role was beneficial during this interview. Note, when a follow up question was asked it was a clue that I had either not answered the question as they had hoped or I needed to provide additional information. Use this as a clue to go deeper or even ask for clarification so you're answering the question properly.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. In my current role, what are the top 3 things I love, and what are the top 3 things I wouldn't miss. 2. Regarding individuals I have trained, who were the clientele, what did I train, how long did the training last, and what I liked about it? 3. What motivates me? 4. When did I achieve metric results under difficult circumstances? 5. Do I adapt to, and am I open, to feedback? 6. When/how have I managed others through a project? 7. Describe a time when I was confronted with an internal/external customer problem and how did I handle it?

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2024

      Interview

Interview process is straightforward, for the most part. Recruiter reached out from HR, then set up an on-site interview. On-site interview was fairly unprofessional. There was no one to greet you and no instructions on where the office was located in a building with over 50 floors.

      Question 1

Teach me something new in 60 seconds.

      Transition Specialist Representative (TSR) Interview

      9 Apr 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Paycom

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter to set up a phone interview. The interview was pretty standard, and at one point I was asked about my GPA which I couldn't remember. Afterward the recruiter sent me a formal application to submit so I can be interviewed. I received a text a few days later from the recruiter to set up a web-cam interview, and after exchanging a few times of availability, she asked again about the GPA I listed in the application, asking if it was a typo. After that she proceeded to tell me that there was a GPA requirement, and said she would have to cancel the interview, all over text. I don't mind a GPA requirement, not many places seem to abide by that after earning your degree but a company requirement is a requirement. However, I feel like a GPA requirement should be listed somewhere in the job description or application process, and the recruiter handling all that over text felt very unprofessional when she could have just called.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very standard first phone interview, screen style questions. Nothing out of the ordinary.
