A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and set up a screening phone call. They emphasized that they thought I was a good fit and told me the hiring manager had some questions. She wanted to see work samples so I emailed the recruiter several examples of my work. After a week or so of waiting, I got scheduled to meet the hiring manager. After the interview, the hiring manager requested yet more work samples via email. After sending several work samples to the hiring manager over the course of 2 weeks, I was then moved along to a stakeholder interview with 2 peers.
Along the way, I asked for feedback at the end of each interview - all my interviewers told me they didn't have feedback aside from that they were impressed with my experience. After the peer interviews, I was left hanging for 2 weeks and didn't hear anything. They changed recruiters halfway through the process, who spent an additional week trying to schedule a call with me.
Turns out the call was to tell me I didn't get the job - why not just email me and save both our time? I received additional feedback but was caught off guard since none of it was mentioned in the interviews when I specifically asked for feedback.
All in all I appreciated that they got back to me in the end, but didn't appreciate that it took almost 2 months just to go through an interview round.
