I applied online. I interviewed at Oxylabs (Vilnius) in Jun 2026
Interview
The company is in the process of recruiting for a leadership role, but there was no clear agenda established ahead of time, and I encountered sound quality issues that made it difficult to hear the questions being asked. I got the sense that HR wasn’t particularly interested in sharing information about the company or discussing my background.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Why I applied
- Relocation possibilities
- Cross-sales process
- Leadership skills
Thanks for sharing this. We’re sorry to hear the conversation felt unclear and that sound issues made the interview more difficult. We appreciate you pointing this out and will use it to improve our process.

Interview
Interviewed for a cryptic, one-off position unrelated to the company's main profile.
The first question was: "Why are you interested in web scraping?"
I said I'm not really specifically interested in that.
He looked genuinely puzzled: "Then why are you here?"
I had to remind him of the job description, which was immediately a bit of a red flag to me.
We talked about my background then.
I was asked something along the lines of: "Why do your job spans keep getting shorter?"
Which was not only factually incorrect, but my shortest role was at least 1 year. I wouldn't call it job hopping. Another red flag right there.
Overall, the talk was pretty generic and uneventful. The interviewer did project some weird energy, but nothing too disturbing.
I was declined on the grounds of not having enough "refactoring experience". Which is kind of weird. Because you see REFACTORING is normally not a distinct career specialization. It also never came up as something immediately important within the vague description of the prospective position. I imagine it was just a lame/polite brush-off. But then again, what do I know. Maybe they did require a lot of REFACTORING 🤔
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your interview experience did not meet expectations.
We will share your experience with the team so we can continue improving our interview process and candidate communication.
Thank you again for your interest in Oxylabs, and we wish you all the best moving forward.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Oxylabs (Vilnius) in Apr 2026
Interview
It was scheduled as a 15 minute phone call with the recruiter which was a little odd to begin with. They called 30 minutes earlier than scheduled with no prior communication, didn't even apologize for it or address it. No real questions about myself or my experience, just asked me what I know about the product, my salary expectations, and they couldn't really answer any of my questions about the specifics of the role, kept saying it would be discussed with the hiring manager. Just odd all around.

Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry for the impression the first call made.
Our introductory calls are meant to have a quick chat about your background and expectations before moving things forward.
We apologize for the inconvenience of an earlier-than-planned call, as it is not something we usually practice. We recognize that a first conversation shapes how candidates feel about us as a company, and we take that seriously. We've noted your feedback and hope you find a great opportunity soon!
