After applying for a role that was in my opinion a great fit for my skills and experience I was elated to receive an invitation to a Teams meeting with the hiring manager, followed by a reminder the day before. After taking a reasonable amount of time out for interview prep and changing personal appointments to make the time available I connected to the meeting only to find the interviewer didn't turn up and neither did the recruiter. I then had a follow up call from the recruiter the following week who apologized and said he would be in touch when he could get some time with the hiring manager. He then called a week later and explained that they were already far advanced in the hiring process and weren't interviewing any new candidates. I then received an automated rejection note a few days later. For a company who publicly displays its commitment to its core values I'm disappointed that they didn't respect my time during the process. A call from the recruiter before the scheduled interview time would have saved a lot of angst at that time. I totally get that these roles have a lot of applicants but I feel that the way they treated me was disrespectful of my time.
