I was contacted after receiving an email from the Senior Talent Manager. I was set up with a 30 minute phone call which started off by her answering the phone while having a side bar conversation {her words not mine}. I was able to have an interview with the Senior Director with whom I would be reporting to since she had the flexibility to speak with me. I was called in for an on-site interview. I live over two hours away and made accommodations to meet them onsite for a face to face interview with only 2 days notice. I emailed the Senior Talent Manager and inquired on reimbursement for travel considering it was a 350+ mile drive. {Why wouldn’t they have offered instead of me asking? Great question-she informed me that they did}. When I got to the office...the front desk person was the nicest person there. I was interviewed by a gentleman that was not only late but extremely condescending in our interview. Considering he’s only been there 6 months, his goal was to showcase his intelligence and qualifications as if he was trying to prove himself. It made him very unapproachable and honestly like one of those know it alls that probably just passed his SHRM test and feels really good about it. He literally asked questions as if you were taking the PHR/SHRM and didn’t write down anything that I said AT ALL. It was very clear when I didn’t answer a question that he didn’t agree with. {Let’s me know this department isn’t open to anyone thinking outside of the box}. This seemed to be a joke to him. Again, he’s only been with the company 6 months and based on his profile, I can see why he probably hasn’t lasted at any previous positions very long. I left there feeling like this was definitely not the place for me. I submitted my receipts for reimbursement and didn’t so much as get a received email response or any follow up. Sheesh and this is your HR department? No wonder you’re hiring. I really wanted this job but now I am so glad the stars aligned and I was able to get a real idea of what it would be for working here. Good luck with anyone who gets in this place. This is probably a great place for technology candidates but not ideally for HR. And honestly most of the employees look alike...and that says a lot about this company as well...I was probably interviewed as a quota requirement and not as a serious candidate.
