I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hortonworks
Interview
Great, easy interview process. Flexible and once they had the official job requisition, the process moved very quickly. The recruiter was great and the hiring manager was willing to work with me on scheduling challenges. The new-hire process is what you'd expect at a quickly growing, successful start-up company, so there are some bumps. :) That said, everyone worked hard and were responsive once misses became apparent. I was able to hit the ground running with only a small amount of extra effort.

Question 1
Nothing really that difficult, however I was a bit overwhelmed by the scope of the need. They were (are) implementing several major process and infrastructure changes simultaneously. At any other company I've worked with, you'd do no more than one or two of these at a time, but here, they are going all-in in all directions right from the beginning.
