      Interview

Overall, the interview process was pretty standard for a growing SaaS company. I got through six interviews and was the runner-up. Half of the interviews were stellar - seemingly really great people with thoughtful questions and conversation. These felt very fluid and easy, allowing for banter, rapport establishment, and natural follow-up questions. Two of the six, particularly the leaders, seemed to have an elitist mentality - giving the cold shoulder to friendly conversation. One of them showed up late and actually cut me off at the start of our interview when I asked "how was your weekend?" saying "we don't have much time so let's cut to the chase." Lastly, I was left with little to no time to ask questions of my own - displaying a clear lack of interest in a genuine candidate. This made me feel like they wanted someone who would simply listen and do. Certainly not the type of leadership that would inspire. After this interview, I wasn't sure if I was interested as 1) leadership didn't seem kind or collaborative and 2) the role seemed pretty unstructured. Pairing this experience with recent reviews of the company, I'd personally suggest to be more cognizant/skeptical.
