I have talked over the phone to 4 people, including management level people and engineering level people. Business leaders look for your motivation to work for a startup company. Engineering people ask about your experience in the domain and how they will fit in the company goals.

Describe an ML project that you have worked before and what were the challenges you faced and how you approached them?
First an HR call, discuss background and process
Then an ML system design type interview with the team, ML questions, deep dives
Then a final call with management, general behavioural questions, discuss the role
Overall took 3-4 weeks

Interview
The interview was very flexible, chilled, and conversational. It felt relaxed and informal, making it easy to talk. We had a great chat, and the whole process was impressively fast.
