I applied online. I interviewed at G2 (Barcelona) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interview process included:
* HR screening
* Hiring manager interview (Director level)
* Case study presentation
* Stakeholder interview (VP level)
* Planned final interview with senior marketing leadership
The process initially seemed very strong. The recruiter was highly responsive throughout the early stages, often reaching out within 24 hours of each round - even via WhatsApp - to discuss feedback and schedule next steps. The interviews themselves were generally smooth, and the case study felt relevant and appropriately scoped.
However, after several rounds of interviews, communication stopped completely. I sent a follow-up email regarding next steps and never received any response or acknowledgment, despite the recruiter previously being extremely proactive and communicative throughout the process.
The organization also appeared quite top-heavy following multiple rounds of layoffs/restructuring. The role itself was an IC position with two direct reports, but sat beneath both Director and VP-level management layers despite having very limited executional headcount. The structure felt unusually management-heavy relative to the size of the function. This may just be how G2 operates, but it feels upside down.
I understand companies may choose not to move forward with candidates for many reasons. But after asking candidates to invest significant time across multiple interview rounds and a case study, completely disappearing without any closure is unprofessional and, in my opinion, reflective of the company culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very standard interview questions. Nothing unusual.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at G2 in Jan 2023
Interview
I applied online and was interviewed by the recruiter. I then met with the hiring manager and it went well with both and had good conversations so moved on to the next round which was with 3 individuals (including what would be direct reports). With 2 of the individuals I felt a negative, unfriendly vibe, no mistaking it and have no idea why. Wouldn't be a good atmosphere to work in as there seemed to be some sort of bias that I was picking up on. The pay was below what I've made in past 2 positions.

Question 1
Typical questions - tell me about your previous positions, tell me about campaigns, ABM programs...
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at G2 (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2019
Interview
Pretty standard interview process. I had a call with an external recruiter then my resume was submitted to the company. A few days later, I was asked to do a Wonderlic-style test. When I passed it, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager then was later brought in for an in-person. Ultimately I did not get the job but the hiring manager treated me well and I felt positive about the experience. I would love to work at G2 in the future even though they didn’t see me as a fit for that position.
Thank you for providing us feedback! I'm glad you found the recruiting process at G2 met your needs from a communication standpoint.
I hope you'll consider G2 again for future opportunities as we continue to grow. Thanks again!
