      Consultant Interview

      26 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Ephesoft (Houston, TX) in Dec 2021

      Interview

Hiring manager reached out to me directly about the role based on a previous application. After I expressed interest, I was rushed through the process with one step right on top of the other and the recruiter was very aggressive about it (not what I expect from a company that sells itself on being flexible with employees). It was a very strange process with 3 interviews. One interview was with the recruiter, one with the hiring manager, and one with two people on the team. The interview with the two people on the team was where it got the weirdest. I was lead to believe that this interview would be informal just to make sure we got along and bonded okay, but it was anything but. It turned out to be a full on panel interview with canned questions that it sounded like they got from a google search and it was more difficult than my interview with the actual manager (why are they doing his job?). Also, these people were junior in level to what this role would be so not sure what qualified them to assess my qualifications. They gave off a slight heir of snobbery throughout the interview and showed their biases. After the last step, here I sit weeks later and I haven’t heard a thing, which makes no sense as I didn’t go to them, they came to me. This makes the company comparable to many unprofessional companies out there who think it’s acceptable to ghost candidates. I’m very fed up with this behavior. It is intolerable and unconscionable! More awareness needs to be made about this newer trend as it has already happened far too many times. Companies need to be held accountable for this behavior! I will hold this company accountable by never considering employment with them again! I am a serious candidate and very employable. I will not play these games!

Dear Candidate, We are sorry to hear about your experience interviewing. It sounds frustrating with miscommunication about how the interview would work. We try hard to be flexible, kind, inclusive and involve different levels of team members in our process. We take your comments seriously and our action plan is to review interview procedures, questions and follow-up. While we don’t know the exact position (via Glassdoor) you are referring to, there are some job openings that take longer than 6 weeks to fill, so it’s always possible that the position has yet to be filled. Our policy is that we do not send out notices of not getting the job if that job has not been filled, as we could potentially reevaluate candidates. But we never intentionally ghost candidates, as we approach the interview process with courtesy and respect. We appreciate your feedback and best of luck in your future endeavors. Best Regards, Ephesoft Team
