I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at EY (Bengaluru) in Feb 2012
Interview
first round is a normal GD- something like extempore need to speak on the topics given. (this is generally to check our communication) second round was general aptitude test by Meritrac- consisted hugely of accounts. Third Hr round- general HR questions and final round was technical round- questions on competency and projects.

The process was relatively straightforward and moved quickly (total time was less than 2 weeks). It consisted of:
(1) Online application - submitting CV, cover letter etc. via the career portal
(2) Online assessment - takes about 1 hour, some quantitative questions, questions about behaviours etc.
(3) Phone call with recruiter
(4) In-person interview - less "formal", more conversational

*tip: be prepared with questions to ask the interviewer
Overall good experience. 2 rounds of interview. Got to know results in 1 day. Smooth process. Interview was scheduled online. Three interviewers were present. Covered technical questions and skills i know.
the application process is starting from looking in the LinkedIn. After that, they refer to the EY website. From this you can see the requirement for the job applicant. Depends on the role whether the company expect quite experience on organization and academic. The most important they put a highlight is being active on organization which they know how social you are.
