      Consultant Interview

      23 Jul 2011
      Anonymous employee
      New Delhi
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at EY (New Delhi) in Jul 2011

      Interview

I forwarded my CV in mid January 2011 for Government Business (GoB). I received the first call on 19th February from Executive HR. I was told about my referee. She asked a few basic details like current employer, CTC, Notice Period, Designation and current profile etc. Later on I received one mail from the same HR asking me to reply by filling one attached EY CV template. Within a week, I received another mail from one Senior Consultant who asked me to share my CV in yet another E&Y format. In next week, I got a call from the same Senior Con. He asked me about my existing work profile. Nothing happened for around 20-25 days. Then I received another call from senior HR who asked me in detail about my profile and all HR questions. She also briefed me about the Project, location and the profile for which I was being interviewed. On 11th May 2011, I got a call from Project Management Consultant. She quoted my referer and asked for my convenient time for the telephonic Interview. The interview happened the same week. It lasted for 80 minutes! From simple introduction to my summer internship and current work, we discussed a few case studies as well. These cases were related to Government Projects, implentation, monitoring and reporting. I was given time to prepare for my case study and was asked if I would prefer a call back. But I preferred to continue without opting for extra time in case studies. I was basically evaluated on my business and project understanding. At the end, the interviewer asked me about my proficiency with MS package like Visio, Excel and MPP. Interview ended with typical statement, "I will share my feedback with my Manager and then we will get back to you". Later on I got to know that I was being hired for her team! By the end of May, I was told that I had cleared the previous round of Interview and would have to wait for the Partner round. In June end, I was asked for Partner round interview which I declined for my unavailability during that time. We postponed it and finally the Partner round was schedule on 18th July 2011! On 18th July, I appeared for Partner round interview at E&Y HT Office, CP, New Delhi. It lasted for around 60 minutes. It was a detailed discussion. There was nothing sort of Interview. No pressure, no technical questions. The Partner offered me Security Auditor profile and asked my comfort. I preferred Advisory Services. On 20th July, I was informed that I had cleared Partner Round and would soon get a call from HR!
