EY Entry Level Audit Assurance interview questions

I applied through a recruiter. Two days later, I was asked to schedule a phone interview. They called me on time. The process was easy. At the end of interview, I asked when I can hear back from you. They said there would be an office visit at the beginning of October and I can go there based on my experience. Two weeks later, however, I got a rejection letter, stating that they can not bring me into the office because of the numbers. I can not understand why such a respectful is so dishonest. Why can't they wait to turn me down after they told me that I can go to second round interview. It is disgusting.
