Met with the recruiter to see if there was a fit after getting referred by a friend. Then I met with the hiring manager and another senior level manager.
I ended up receiving a job offer, I decided to counter-offer compensation because there is a lot of travel involved. From there I was told that the only way to move forward is to accept the original offer.
So I agreed, I was told to accept the email proposal and then fill out onboarding paperwork.
A few days past and I receive a call that they decided to pull my offer because of compensation expectations
By US standards, it was very unorganized. You find yourself chasing the scheduler as well as sending several follow ups to the hiring manager before getting a response. The process unnecessarily took three to four months.
