Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The first interview asked the basic interview questions about what you currently do and what you know about the company. I studied for days per the recruiter's request to know everything about the company and suite of solutions. The interviewer mentioned multiple times this job was not considered sales and it would take someone with a much more analytical background. The interview with the hiring manager in a different state was all situational questions followed by a role play. The hiring manager stopped mid role play and cut off the "pitch". My advice would be to practice a role play as much as possible and share experiences of a consultative sales process. The bar raiser interview was a basic cultural fit and it seemed to focus on your ability to work with others and overall attitude,
Felt similar to another SGM interview I read on Glassdoor. Had one call with recruiter and felt like I was just a number to boost number of people interviewed for the position.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Compass (New York, NY) in Jun 2024
Interview
I was told it was a 4-5 interview process. I completed an introductory interview with the main recruiter for the department. He prepped me for the second interview. I was prepared to speak very specifically about the requirements of the position but unfortunately the head of the department did not ask me anything about my knowledge of the product and steered the conversation away from it when I attempted to display how my experience would fit the position. I wasn’t offered a second interview despite being uniquely qualified.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Compass in Apr 2024
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me several times. On our call she immediately prefaced the call with "Well this wont take long at all" and sounded like she was speed reading through a job description. Then she asked to learn a little about my background. After I shared about my bg, no questions were asked and was told that she will share the information with the hiring people and will get back to me. I don't even think I was able to say Bye as she hung up so quick. I've been in recruiting and staffing for many years and this was the most unprofessional recruiter I've spoken to. She sounded impatient and just trying to get her numbers in. I was honestly so shocked.

Question 1
No questions were asked about me, what I'm looking for, no follow up questions on my experience, background, etc. It was a complete waste of my time, but at least it wasn't a 30 min call because she was right - it didnt take long about a 9 minute phone call.
