I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Celonis (New York, NY) in Apr 2026
Interview
I applied because someone from the company thought it would be a good fit for me and had no idea how ridiculous the expectations would have been for an "early career" position. I have never once been given a task with homework preparation to learn the companies platform leading up to the first round interview I spent what minimal time I had with the short notice of the interview during a busy season for me, but it didn't matter although I think I did well in their platform exercise at it interview, I was not ready for these gotcha questions.
After that I was told there was to be 2-3 presentation and panel rounds. I have never heard of a more exhausting interview process for position of < 3 years experience.
Last but not least, the interviewer was very rude and showed visible signs of impatience and frustration by the time at the end of the interview, even though I was polite and showed genuine interest, explicitly and respect in even paid compliments. I just knew that I wasn't gonna make it to the second round, big waste of my time.
The recruiter was awesome, though!
Be ready for wild questions or else you will get scoffed at. Makes you wonder if those required training modules they ask you do prior to the 1st round are worth it if you can't make it past the tough guy gatekeeper.
*Edit: I do recall looking at this Glassdoor feed and saw that many people reported being asked a lot of Value Engineer role term definitions. Thus, I also spent quite a bit of my 13th hour moment, I made sure I was solid on all the various key terms (they have a lot). BUT, I was asked 0 of these questions instead - it did not help in my case.

Interview
I interviewed for the Value Engineer (Orbit Program) position. It consisted of one HR screening, Team Lead Interview and Final ‘Challenge’ Interview. Be prepared to spend at least 20-30 hours for the challenge. I got to the final round and the reason I didn’t pass was due to my ‘lack’ in technical background. I would have appreciated that feedback at an earlier stage as I have made clear from the beginning that my SQL & Python knowledge were mostly from academia with no job related experience. Although this role is advertised as being beginner friendly, they clearly look out for people with practical experience and ideally a computer science/ programming background. During the final interview Christopher (Team Lead Dach) came across as very unfriendly. I was not even given the opportunity for asking questions at the end of the interview. Overall a disappointing experience after putting in a lot of effort.

Interview
A VERY time-consuming process. Be prepared to spend multiple working days on take-home assignments without any kind of compensation. I would not interview again here. People were mostly friendly though.
