      Senior Frontend Developer Interview

      9 Mar 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Awork in Feb 2023

      Interview

Overall, the process was positive, but unfortunately, it ended with a bitter taste. I had two interviews, one with the CTO and one with HR. Both were great and allowed me to understand the company's vision and values. HR asked about personal and attitudinal stuff, which was also a good experience. After the interviews, they sent me a technical challenge, which I completed successfully, and they evaluated it positively. After that, they scheduled a technical interview with the engineering team, which also went smoothly. We discussed the tech stack and related topics, and it turned out we were aligned on almost everything. At the end of the interview, they told me that HR would contact me in a couple of days with the next steps. I was confident that I would receive an offer after the technical interview. However, a few days after the interview, I received a small message from HR stating that they had chosen another candidate whose profile suited the role better. While I understand that these decisions can be challenging, what frustrated me was that I asked for feedback on what made them choose another candidate, and I never received a response. I also asked for clarification on why they were searching for more than one developer initially, and again, I never got an answer. I spent a lot of time and effort on this process, which included two interviews, a test, and a technical interview. Therefore, it's understandable that I felt unhappy with HR's communication. I believe that if a company invests in a lengthy hiring process and attracts a high caliber of candidates, they should be transparent and professional in their communication, especially when it comes to giving feedback. I hope that this feedback helps the company to improve its hiring process, and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

      Interview

Quite frankly, quite disheartening. You pass the intro call round, get the task, spend time on it, they review it only after you give a nudge, reject you which is of course, totally fine, it's part of the game. The sad part is they reject you for something they hadn't asked for :D and with the generic email with no sign of any feedback. As soon as they reject you, they ghost you with no feedback at all. They act nice but it's all fake I believe. Not only that, I interviewed two or three months ago and the job is still up. Either they are looking for Einstein or they don't want to hire, In both cases, it's bad, the culture must be poisonous over there.
