I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Autodesk in Feb 2025
Interview
1. Recruiter screening
2. Managerial
3. Coding
I was told during the recruiter screening that this is a Python focussed role and would only need some knowledge of front end for interacting with the front end developers. The coding interview was a 100% front end coding interview on technologies that I had mentioned previously that I was not skilled in. Obviously, I couldn't complete the front end coding challenge. I don't understand if there was a miscommunication between the recruiter, hiring manager and interviewer. Absolutely horrible experience. I did not even apply for a front end role.
Typical software engineer process. First telephone resume screening. and then OA and then Onsite interview. Each step is average difficult. But HR did ask some personal private questions which made me unconfortable.
3 rounds, not that stressful, love the environment. more like to chat. And maybe it would be better to prepare some tech questions, it sould be really helpful. But the tech comes until the second, and third round is more like behavior questions.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Autodesk in Apr 2026
Interview
I first had a call with the recruiter to discuss the role, my background, and my experience. After that, I was invited to Round 1 with the manager.
The interview was mostly behavioral and focused heavily on teamwork, collaboration, and communication-related topics. Toward the end, there were also a few technical questions covering C++, DSA fundamentals, and other stuff related to the role.
Overall, the process felt professional and respectful. The manager was kind, approachable, and treated me with respect throughout the interview.
