Applied to Apple online. Received an invitation to meet them at a hotel for a group event. I went there. Everyone was in business casual clothes (few were formal). I saw only a couple in jeans. They show us a clip of why working at Apple is great, then they ask us questions (when did Apple open its first store, who has an ipad, what's you're favorite app). Make sure you answer a few questions. There were a few who kept hogging up all the answers by shouting them out.
We then had to play a "game" where we play both Apple Salesman and Customer with our partners (whoever is sitting next to you). The customers included, a celebrity wanting to make a large order, a customer who wants to find out about Apple rumors, a genius who wants a job, an old lady who wants to know what an iPhone is, a college student looking to make a few purchases -- etc, etc.
There are a group of Apple individuals in the back who are writing everything down, and they're timing you. Afterwards, they dismissed us, letting us know we'll know within two weeks if we were picked to continue to the next step in the interview.
I received an invite that evening, setting me up with an interview. It was with three other people at this cafe near Apple. It was a very short interview -- I got the impression they didn't like me right off the bat, so weren't giving me the time. I was done within 10 minutes. Questions were about customer service, group work, etc.
