I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2025
Interview
The Amazon Software Development Engineer (SDE) interview process typically consists of three main stages: an Online Assessment, a Phone Screen, and the Onsite Interviews (commonly called “The Loop”). The Online Assessment includes coding challenges and behavioral evaluations based on Amazon’s Leadership Principles. If successful, candidates move on to a Phone Screen, where they solve one or two coding problems in a shared editor while explaining their thought process. The final stage, The Loop, involves four to five back-to-back interviews covering algorithms, system design (for experienced roles), and behavioral questions, including a session with a "Bar Raiser" who ensures a consistent hiring standard. Throughout the process, strong coding skills, problem-solving ability, and alignment with Amazon’s culture are critically assessed.
I received an Online Assessment (OA) invitation from Amazon. The assessment consisted of two coding questions of medium to hard difficulty, focusing on data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills. The questions required efficient solutions with optimized time and space complexity. After the OA, shortlisted candidates typically proceed to one or more technical interview rounds covering coding, system design, and behavioral questions based on Amazon's Leadership Principles.
Applied online via career site, received OA link within 2 days and cleared it, Round 1- DSA, Round-2 DSA, Round 3- System Design, Round 4- Mixed Technical Discussion and Behavioral.
