      Interview

Took an entire business day. Could have been broken up over two days, but it’s a grueling process that is wasteful if nothing comes of it. There are assessments that are required before being selected for an interview and many of the employees don’t bother to read the resume before meeting with you.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I receive an email, like a week after the application, telling me that my profile fit the requirements of the job. They ask me to send them where I could attend the interview (virtual one). After that I receive two different emails, one, telling me that the interview was a purely technical one, that I needed high IT background, telling me that the position need IT background. But at the end of the interview, no question related to that were made Then another email telling me that beside the tech aspect I need to read about Amazon 14 principles.

      Senior Proposal Manager Interview

      3 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon in Oct 2020

      Interview

The first recruiter was fairly responsive and took almost no time setting up the first interview, which went great. Interviewer was the manager of the team I was going to join. Immediately told me that I was going on to the second round and even gave me tips for scoring well on the second round. Second round interview was held by someone who was clearing reading from a screen and then making me pause while she typed what I was saying into this screen. Did not feel the interview went well at all, but I made it to the third round of interviews. Third interview contact was initiated by a different recruiter who didn't know me and did not really understand my job role. Sent me a very strange email stating, "I know you love writing, so hopefully you find this assignment fun." First off, we had never spoken. Secondly, writing was not a big portion of this role. In fact, it wasn't even mentioned in the job description. They wanted me to write an unsolicited proposal to an unnamed gov't customer that was detailed and persuasive. They wanted me to solution the proposal myself by going to their website and picking the right products or services based on the customers needs. They wanted me to write an executive summary convincing the customer of the benefits of cloud and steer them toward an AWS solution. They want this in six pages and give you five days to do it. They could have given me 20 days and it still wouldn't have worked. That's not how proposals work.
