Amazon Database Engineer interview questions

The interviewer didn't use the whiteboard app at all, I was writing queries on pen and paper. He was also typing really loudly the entire time, which basically destroyed my concentration. The questions were not hard, but when I tried to get any feedback or clarification from him he would just repeat the question over again, and ended the interview abruptly half an hour early before I could even formulate responses...since I was writing on paper. To be frank, it didn't seem like he was paying attention. I'm sure these guys do thousands of these, but based on the email I got from my recruiter, I was prepared to answer in-depth technical questions on database architecture, internals, and query tuning. This was...not that.

5 rounds of interview including one telephonic. first was the phone screen and then once it was cleared, there was onsite interview.There were 2 techinical rounds, one manager round and one bar riser round. Bar riser round is very very important as it checks for the overall personality of the candidate.The interview is based on the leadership principles of Amazon where in every candidate is measured across the leadership principles.
