The recruiter was responsible enough setting up and completing the phone screening. Unlike the previous review, he followed through appropriately.
However, the interview with the hiring manager was unprofessional to say the least. The laptop kept bouncing which was annoying, and an outside party actually entered the room during the interview. Even though it is virtual, you should try to keep a professional atmosphere instead of treating it like a free for all.
The hiring manager seemed caught up with the idea of calls, calls, calls. See 1980s sales playbook of a boiler room reminiscent of Wall Street. 🤦♂️
With COVID-19, prospects are more responsive to emails as opposed to calls. People are not glued to their office phone. I have a proven history of closing as well as completed demos rather than a call history of “70-80 calls a day.” The manager seemed to have blinders in that regard.
