      Business Analyst Interview

      2 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Paris
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Paris) in Jan 2016

      Interview

1/ HR screening and interest for the position 2/ Interview with Airbnb Business Analyst (mostly fit and understanding of the position) 3/ Challenge (data crunching and powerpoint presentation) 4/ Interview with Airbnb Senior Business Analyst (fit & business sense) 5/ Interview with Country Manager 6/ Core interviews 7/ Interview with Managing Director So fairly long and demanding but extremely helpful in terms of: 1/ understanding the company (mission & business model) 2/ getting to know the people involved directly or indirectly with the position you are applying 3/ having a first taste of Airbnb's culture I had a excellent fit and genuine conversation with every interviewer involved. They all took the time to better understand my motivations and explained to me the what they expected and the specificities of Airbnb's culture. Overall, I had a very positive experience and I would recommend everyone with a passion for Airbnb to go through it!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      > Fit (apart from the obvious "why do you want to work here", etc.): - what is the best piece of advice you've ever received? - what is an object that changed you life? - do you think Airbnb is an old or a young thing? - what would you change in our product? > Business sense: - estimate Airbnb's market share in [insert location] - estimate Airbnb's penetration rate in [insert location] - what would be the main threat for airbnb? - how do you think the company could grow?

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Airbnb (Bengaluru) in Aug 2023

      Interview

First there was a telephonic HR round: Asked me about my previous work experience, why i'm changing companies, salary expectations, current salary etc. Then she told me there will be 6 rounds including the HR one. Next one would be a SQL hackerrank test with medium to hard leetcode questions and MCQs. I scored full marks in the coding test. After that i had a technical interview with the analytics head of the community support team ( the team i was supposed to join). The interview was supposed to be of one hour. He asked me 4 questions on SQL and 5 questions on Python ( these were quite simple definations of functions ). then i solved 2 SQL questions and 20 mins were left for the interview to be over but the guy said he needs to go on to another meeting and said my performance was satisfactory and i need not solve the other 2 SQL questions. Post this i got an email that i was REJECTED from the processs as i was "unqualified" for the postion.
