      Software Engineer Interview

      8 Feb 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at 360Learning

      Interview

      1. Call with recruiter 2. Technical test (hackerrank + live coding) 3. Discovery meeting with engineers 4. Culture fit interview 5. Final interview with CTO I only got to step 2 as the Hackerrank test was really not what I was expecting : 4 exercises in 1h30, typical hackerrank challenges (abstract puzzle types) of increased difficulty. Really felt like either you had seen the challenges before or you could not complete all 4 in time. I had half the mind to give up then and there but then I thought maybe the challenges were made to evaluate thought process / MVP thinking and code quality more than the outcome so I focussed on writing good code, easy to read, useful comments for my reviewer… I have to say when the timer ran out I was left with a feeling of humiliation. I do realise it’s a strong word but it is the best fitted :( : I have a very high level of education, years of experience including at a well known company and I was rejected without being given a chance to talk to an engineer. I don’t hold a grudge, I was interviewing at 3 companies and got an amazing opportunity which I accepted. I wish 360learning all the best to source amazing engineers in the future but my advice would be to switch models for the technical interview. I have chatted with a number of senior engineers, some of which now refuse point blank any Hackerrank - or similar - process.

      Software Engineer Interview

      28 May 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at 360Learning in May 2025

      Interview

I recently had a phone screening with 360Learning. The interviewer came across as distant and disengaged, resulting in one of the most disappointing candidate experiences I’ve had. There was little effort to explore my background in depth or assess how I might be a fit for the role. It left me questioning why I was contacted in the first place.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback—and we're genuinely sorry that your first impression of 360Learning was a negative one. A candidate should never leave an interview feeling like their time or experience wasn’t valued, and it’s clear we missed the mark here. We've already reviewed this internally and taken immediate steps: We're revisiting our phone screening structure to ensure interviewers take the time to explore each candidate’s background in more depth. We’re reinforcing expectations around engagement and preparation with everyone involved in the process. We’ll be implementing candidate experience check-ins more systematically across early interview stages. Your feedback was specific and helpful—it’s pushing us to raise the bar, and that’s exactly what we intend to do. If you're open to it, we’d sincerely welcome a follow-up conversation to hear more and share the concrete improvements we’re making. Thank you again for your honesty, and all the best in your future endeavors.

      Software Engineer Interview

      1 Feb 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 360Learning

      Interview

      - Phone screen - Technical test (HackerRank, typical Algorithms & Data Structures problems) - Discovery meeting : First a debrief of the technical choices (you get a chance to explain your choices and have a discussion about what could have been done differently) Then an exercise about building a feature. - Clarification meeting : general discussion about how I used to work in my previous teams. How work was organized, how I would handle certain situations etc. - Culture-fit meeting : final interview with director of engineering. The goal is to assess how you would fit within the company's unique culture ; see if you understood the culture well and if you think you would thrive in it. The overall process was well-organized and super fast (from phone screen to offer in less than 2 weeks). Everything was super transparent, communication with my recruiter was a breeze. Expectations were always made explicit. I really enjoyed the interviews as interviewers really embodied the culture they were selling as part of the process. A lot of benevolence, transparency and feedback that made me all the stress go away immediately.
