What is the hiring process like at Quince?

Excellent Interview Experience and First 90 Days

      Pros

The overall experience of the hiring process was streamlined, efficient, and informative. I did not know anyone at Quince prior to applying, so sent my resume and applied via LinkedIn for the position. I also LinkedIn messaged my soon-to-be boss as a touchpoint if they were still hiring for the position (it was posted a few months ago but they were hiring for several roles so it was still active) and she said yes. I heard back from the internal recruiting POC in a few days and we had very quick and easy communication getting my interview scheduled. Overall, I had four interviews before receiving and finalizing my offer. The communication from the recruiter about the role and expectations was very informative and holistic, and scheduling was a breeze. Quince operates on a very quick timeline, and I was prepared to move quickly through the interview process of first connecting with the recruiter, my direct boss, the department head, and then to prepare and present a deck for both. The interview atmosphere was very straightforward - efficient and timely with pertinent questions relating to my expertise and past performance in a similar role. In my first 90 days, I have had a series of goals and individual 1:1 meetings with my manager. The metrics to hit during the 30-60-90 day mark were clear, reasonable, and buttressed with resources and team support to meet them. The team is very welcoming, shares best practices, and supports each other in the universal sales goal instead of individually competing. I am very excited to continue my growth here at Quince!

      Cons

My only issue was that a salary range was misrepresented to me and misaligned when it came down to my initial (and final) offer. There was no leeway or room for negotiation and while I was ultimately happy with the offer I got, it did not match what was communicated in my initial interview. I would suggest being very clear on salary, especially in accordance with new CA law and since the salary wasn't posted on the LinkedIn ad, the verbal information was all I had to reference.

      Pros

The company has such poor customer experience policies, quality issues, shipping issues etc. that customer service needs wont be going anywhere.

      Cons

If you notice a recent influx of reviews posted over the last 2 weeks its been prompted by the executive team's encouragement for positive feedback, which may not fully reflect the true workplace environment. Dig past the last two weeks and read the real reviews if you want to know what its like to work here. It's essential to discern the genuine experiences from those potentially influenced by this initiative. The leadership style of our VP of Customer Service, in particular, has been challenging. Her approach can be described as authoritarian, with a tendency to issue directives without consistent follow-through, leading to confusion and frustration within the team. This inconsistency is further exacerbated by public criticism in meetings, contributing to a workplace atmosphere that feels more punitive than supportive. The Director of Customer Support, closely aligned with the VP and brought in from a previous role, similarly exhibits a less-than-professional demeanor at times, including the use of inappropriate language and a dismissive attitude towards team members contributions and concerns. A notable issue within our team is the preferential hiring from a previous shared workplace, leading to a cliquish management environment disconnected from the rest of the team. This has not only affected the team dynamics but also the overall approach to leadership and support within the company. Compensation for management roles does not match the extensive experience required, with salaries lagging behind industry standards for similar positions, which diminishes the sense of value and appreciation for the work done. The lack of a structured HR department or a clear pathway for addressing workplace issues and concerns leaves many feeling unsupported and without a voice. Promotions and significant decisions often occur behind closed doors, without transparency or acknowledgment, which could otherwise foster a sense of achievement and team spirit. The leadership approach, characterized by a lack of consistent communication, recognition, and support, contrasts starkly with the collaborative and nurturing environments I have been part of in the past. The focus seems to be more on expanding the team size rather than on fostering a positive, efficient, and cohesive workplace culture. As I look towards future opportunities, I seek an environment that values transparency, respect, and genuine leadership.

First, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback you’ve shared here. The CS team is a really valued part of Quince’s ecosystem and your voice matters a great deal in setting our culture up for success. Let me add some thoughts here by topic, below: - Customer Experience. We acknowledge the feedback you shared on our customer experience policies, quality issues, and shipping concerns. We are actively working to address these areas and sharing changes and evolutions to the way the team works on a weekly basis. - Leadership Style and Team Dynamics. Your concerns about CS Leadership style are noted. We recognize the need for more consistent follow-through and supportive management practices. We are committed to addressing unprofessional behavior and ensuring respectful and inclusive conduct. - Preferential Hiring. Your point on preferential hiring is completely noted! That said, referrals can be a strong way to bring in engaged talent. To your point, that shouldn’t lead to an internal culture that feels clique-y or segmented based on someone’s source employer. We’ll look into ways that may be showing up internally in the culture and intentionally work to ensure that behavior isn't present. - Compensation and HR Structure. We're excited to say Quince has been investing in it’s people function over the course of this year so your feedback was heard loud and clear! Regarding compensation, we’re actively reviewing and aiming to resurface with a compensation philosophy a little later this year that ensures fairness and competitiveness. Making sure we’re digesting and acting on your feedback is a priority to us. We’ve got an engagement survey out to the Customer Support team now - if you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete that. Additionally, please consider reaching out directly to peopleteam-us@onequince.com to discuss your experience further and work through solutions together.

      Not worth the employment

      Pros

Decent pay I guess but not worth it.

      Cons

Lack of support from management or team. Only care about the numbers.. quantity over quality of work. Had 3 different managers and 2 different team leads while only working there for 4 months. Hiring process is very unorganized and the application itself is ridiculous for a CS role. Training also does not fully prepare you for this role.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Quince didn’t meet your expectations. We recognize that having multiple changes in leadership within a short time can be disruptive, and we’re always working on creating more stability within our teams to ensure employees receive the support they need. We also hear your concerns about the hiring process and training. We’re in the process of refining our onboarding programs to better equip new hires for success in their roles. Ensuring that our team members feel prepared and supported is a priority, and we’re committed to improving this aspect of the experience. While we do have targets to hit, we are working on balancing quality and quantity and ensuring that all employees feel valued beyond just numbers. Pros

Quick and easy interview process. Only required a writing assignment to finalize to offer.

      Cons

In retention roles, everything is timed there isn’t much time to go to the restroom or even walk away from your computer from five minutes.

      1. Totally unethical interview process of asking candidates to solve current business problems in a case presentation format. 2. Hiring team and recruiter ghosts you until you reach back out for updates several times. 3. Seems like the company is using its interview process to crowdsource solutions.

      Cons

Their interview process was good at first but the second they don't want you anymore, they sure as hell don't want you. The reasoning for moving on to other candidates is surface level and cheap. They've reposted the same job FIVE times now which you know if just a recipe for disaster. Probably best to avoid this place.

Energized, Empowered, and Heard – A Great Place to Grow

      Retention specialist manager

      Business outlook

      Pros

Supportive leadership: From day one, I’ve felt genuinely supported and set up for success. My voice matters here, and leadership actively listens and responds to feedback—not just with words, but with action. Transparency & trust: There’s a high level of transparency around company goals, team performance, and individual expectations. That clarity creates a culture of trust and accountability. Opportunity to make an impact: Even as a new hire, I’ve had the chance to shape processes, contribute to hiring decisions, and lead important conversations. It’s energizing to be part of a team that’s still scaling and values contribution at every level. Fast-paced, but human: It’s a fast-moving environment, but there’s a clear understanding that people are people. Empathy, flexibility, and humor are all part of the culture. Thoughtful onboarding: The onboarding and enablement experience was well-organized and hands-on, blending training with immediate opportunities to shadow, lead, and contribute.

      Cons

Growing pains: Like any company scaling fast, there are moments of ambiguity or workload spikes. But they’re handled with transparency and a strong intent to improve continuously.
