      Returns processor
      Former employee
      Litchfield Park, AZ
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

good benefits, incredibly easy, relaxed dress code, no thc testing

      Cons

such a toxic environment. the favoritism is crazy. robotic soul sucking mind numbing work. micromanaged. a 25 cent annual raise from a billion dollar company is a joke.

      Good place to work at

      Warehouse associate
      Former employee
      Dallas, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Benefits, pay, culture & relaxed dress code

      Cons

Repetitive and tedious kind of work

      No real management

      Software development engineer (sde) ii
      Current employee
      Tel Aviv-Yafo
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Salary, Stock options, Smart SDEs

      Cons

Most ridiculous and poisonous place I ever worked (And I worked in many places). Nobody really cares about organizing work process. No knowledge transfer. No junior devs nurturing to help them get better. No code or design refactoring for years. Not a right place to learn technology or improve as an engineer. A swamp full of crocodiles, preaching "leadership principals" as communists would preach their doctrine in Stalin time in USSR , but giving no attention to real quality or sanity in development. No real leadership too. Just huge bunch of pretenders leading this ship to its wreckage.

The FAANG dream - A sad reality

      Software development engineer 1
      Current employee
      Hyderābād
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      1. Pay - Amazon's pay being one of the best in industry is their biggest advantage. It is what keeps 90% of the employees sane. 2. The ICs - Legends. The smartest people, and truly very helpful. Helped me get upto speed on my very first job, and single-handedly compensate for the sheer incompetence of management.

      Cons

      1. Terribly toxic work culture - "AI push" has meant nothing other than blindly multiplying load on employees. It is also extremely common for management to set a target, and abruptly reduce it - Results in faster delivery, but with pathetic quality. This has resulted in 0 work satisfaction for me - Despite shipping more code than I did in my entire life, I feel no pride, or sense of achievement. 2. Zero work-life balance - People (specifically managers) bothering you after 6PM isn't just normal but expected - Nothing important, through, just to mess with your psyche

      Software development engineer (sde) 3
      Current employee
      Seattle, WA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Some theoretically interesting problems to solve and did I mention AI!

      Cons

Senior leaders are hell bent on getting AI projects delivered, lack of any vision (priorities shifting monthly), and demonstrate a total lack of empathy for anyone below their pay grade. Glut of middle managers that don’t provide customer value, but an unending stream of documents. Senior engineers that literally don’t write any code, but “influence” other teams to deliver customer value. The gears of this sausage factory are kept lubricated by a steady supply of entry level SDEs with that lack technical proficiency to deliver anything of quality.

A good opportunity for experienced, but not good for freshers

      Support engineer
      Former employee
      Bengaluru
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Always updated tech stack. Good amount of self-learning Working in silo Good career opportunities for experienced No time constraints

      Cons

No team support available for freshers. In spite of lack of team support, lack of code documentation. Lack of mentorship. Mentors assigned only as a namesake. Tech stack is up-to-date. But the way the tech-stack is managed to reduce the efforts of new developers is very bad.

      good so far

      Software engineer
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      good rescues for code base

      Cons

they don't give out many holidays

      Boring and meaningless

      Catalog associate
      Former employee
      Bratislava
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Multi cultural environment, friendly, nice office

      Cons

Almost impossible to have career growth unless you know how to code. The job is really soul sucking and meaningless. Even the most cheerful people get depressed from it within a couple of months…
