Amazon Ads has a great team

      Ads perfomance manager
      Current employee
      Barcelona
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great work environment with supportive colleagues. There’s generally no pressure, flexible working conditions, and a good level of autonomy. The experience largely depends on your manager, but micromanagement is rare. Work schedules and tasks are clearly defined. One of the advantages of being part of a large company is a relatively low-stress environment compared to startups. Good pension plan and medical insurance included.

      Cons

The role can become repetitive after a few years. The company is investing heavily in AI designed to automate parts of the job, and employees are required to use and help train these tools. There are concerns that large-scale layoffs may eventually affect the team as well. Team goals tend to change every quarter, which can make it more challenging (but not impossible) to consistently meet performance targets. As a result, salary increases are typically modest, usually around 2–3% per year.

      RME Technician Amazon UK

      Rme technician
      Current employee
      Wakefield, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Salary very competative for position

      Cons

Payed leave less than other jobs, pension minimal only 5%

Run of the mill enterprise role with poor pay and benefits

      Product marketing manager
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Opportunity to climb the corporate ladder at Amazon - Lots of hard-nosed colleagues and leaders will improve your people skills - The hiring process is actually effective

      Cons

      - You feel like a cog in a machine, no matter what they say as profits consistently take place over people (and customers) - Legal will breathe down your neck as they are constantly worried about Jassy having to testify in congress - Some of the VPs are the most uninspiring corporate robots in the industry - Pay is way below the par for product marketing - after I left my new job at another enterprise paid me £20k more p/a. - Benefits are dreadful, very poor pension match - Clunky reporting structure and goals mean it's impossible to get anything done quick - There are many, many glass ceilings on being hired. You often have to wait until someone leaves.

      Seasonal Team Manager

      Team manager
      Current employee
      Cape Town
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

They cover a portion of medical aid, offer pension and provident fund and pay up to 750 of your internet claim.

      Cons

You dont make permanent easily, there are seasonal roles but its only a 6month stint and you go back to your regular role after. Pay increases are based on global trends, cost of living is not taken into account. There are not enough permanent roles that are easily obtainable. Growth is very slow.

      Cons

Most intense and toxic corporate culture I've worked in

      Paid media manager
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Access to training resources (if you can find time on top of your day job)

      Cons

Toxic work environment - dictorial, exsessive expectations, always-on culture. High workload, as all teams only staffed at max. 80% capacity and expectation to deliver signficant needle-moving projects on top of your 'business-as-usual' work to meet expectations. Salary increases fixed within 'bands' and promotion extremley hard (e.g. have to 'exceed expectations 4+ years on the run to be considered for a promo) Benefits average (max pension contribution only 5%, 5 days in-office, only 25 days holidays)
