Memorial Day for Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Hostile Acts is upon us. Words can't describe the emotional impact of honoring our fallen heroes and loved ones - it's a feeling that touches us deep in the heart. As we prepare for this solemn day, we’ve joined hands with “Avanim Im Lev Adam” (Stones with a Human Heart). This special project allows us to show solidarity with bereaved families by creating a personal or family stone placed on the graves of the fallen on Memorial Day.
This week we are commemorating the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Day. In light of this emotional day, we invited Shimon Greenhouse to visit our office. Shimon Shimon Greenhouse was born in 1932 into a traditional Zionist family in Poland. By the time the Germans occupied his hometown, fierce anti-Semitism was already rampant in Europe. Restrictions on Jews become more onerous, and the infamous selections were not long in coming. Shimon’s grandmother, with extraordinary prescience, pushed the young boy into the "healthy" group, thus saving his life. Today, Shimon is also a father, a grandfather and has been an educator for over 70 years. During this time, he’s helped thousands of teenagers gain their high school diplomas in physics and math - including our CEO and other Cellebrite employees. For his extraordinary work, Shimon received the Lifetime Achievement Award and the title of "Israel’s Best Teacher” for 2017. Today, he honored us with his presence at our “Zikron Basalon” event (an Israeli custom in which Holocaust survivors share their stories with a small audience), where he de
"About 5 years ago, I read a newspaper article about an Israeli company that was helping uncover the identity of the terrorists who had carried out a devastating attack in Europe. That moment lit a spark in me to pursue a career at Cellebrite. Hi, I'm Sela Aftabi, a BI Tech Leader at Cellebrite. For those hearing this term for the first time, it means I’m part of a team developing systems that provide business insights For internal use. In other words, we are helping senior managers to explore the data wisely before making critical decisions and bring these to the attention of other stakeholders. Yes, it’s challenging, but it’s also extremely fulfilling for me. Besides that, I enjoy biking, traveling, and doing home improvements- I’m nifty with a hammer! But if you ask me, there's nothing like engaging your mind. Every day brings an opportunity to create solutions for tough technological puzzles. Doing this alongside friends, like those on my team, is a real pleasure.
Wrapping up our International Women's Day project with the story of the talented Jen Scott: “I started my career while attending college. My friends and I started a technology company that provided networking and telephony solutions to businesses. We were successful, and with the dawn of the internet age, the company expanded and provided ISP services to businesses as well. Despite our growth, I will never forget the day when a woman representing a cellular company walked through our door. Her visit forever changed my career path. Through our meeting, I learned to never be afraid of taking on a new adventure and took a decision that led me to key roles in well-known companies. 30 years have passed since my college days. Last year, I moved into a new role at Cellebrite - Head of Business Strategy for the Americas region. My role is to assist our region's president and develop and execute effective strategies to help drive our business growth. As each day passes, I enjoy discovering the power of our company and contributing to our efforts to make the world a safer place".
Several weeks after the SKO events ended, the buzz is still in the air, especially among our SKO prize winners. Meet Kyle Ringer, one of 12 President's Awards recipients: "Hi everyone, my name is Kyle, and I'm a Sales Manager from New Jersey. After 11 successful years in sales, I decided to make a move to Cellebrite's Enterprise Solutions group, and today I'm celebrating my fourth year with the company! Working for a global organization, particularly in my group, has been incredibly rewarding. Not only does it have a friendly atmosphere, but there are so many exciting experiences. Just three months ago, all Cellebrite sales employees had the opportunity to travel to Israel for an enjoyable week-long development trip. From Jerusalem to our HQ in Petah Tikva, I had the pleasure of experiencing Israel's many marvels with colleagues from around the world while learning all about our products and strategy for 2023. Thank you, Celllebrite, for an incredible kick-off and creating such beautiful memories."
Our ongoing celebration of talented women continues with the story of Catherine Cervillon, our Sales Director, MHP/LTP Accounts: "I was raised in a small village on the northeast island of the Philippines without telecommunications, electricity, or vehicles. The means of living were farming and fishing. As a child, my mom used to wake me up every morning at 05:30 to farm or to help with household chores before sending me to school. When I returned home, I did my homework and helped her with my nine siblings. My dreams led me to college when I was 18. Today, I live in the Philippines after graduating from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a B.Sc. in Mathematics with Outstanding Award. After proving myself as a Country Manager at a well-known software company, I joined Cellebrite as a Sales Director for Philippine Market- a lone handler for all the activities here. If my mom wouldn't raise me to be independent and encouraged me to become the best version of myself, I might never get here".
We are thrilled to continue celebrating our talented women by spotlighting Zan Rees's journey: "After graduating from Chichester University, I wondered what should I do with my IT for business degree. Since I am always inspired by my two wonderful sisters and mother to follow my gut feeling, I pursued a career that included my interests and helping others. My journey began as a computer investigator at Sussex Police. A year later, I discovered the mobile forensics world and moved to Hampshire Constabulary as a mobile investigator. Before joining Cellebrite, I had a series of life changing events which included ending a relationship, having significant surgery, meeting the love of my life, having two children, learning the world in covid times, and learning who I was as a person. After 11 years in the digital forensics field, I was recently promoted to be the UK Regional Technical Lead. I'm proud to be where I am today and encourage you to stand up for everything you feel passionate about. Your journey will ultimately lead you to where you need to be".
Innovation starts from within. Last Thursday, our Product House (R&D) members from around the world, gathered in Israel for our annual conference about Cellebrite's future solutions and focus areas. During the event, they attended lectures about our transition to SaaS, which will take our products to the next level. A highly energetic atmosphere filled the room as our executives gave us a peek into our future technology, and how it will be embedded in our products and day-to-day work. We also witnessed customers' success stories, learned about exciting current projects, and had great times with our experts. This was our Product House Day!
As we continue to honor our talented women and spotlight their journeys, we are proud to share Anat Avni's story: "My journey started as a Mathematics & Computer Science student at Israel’s southeast university. I moved far from everything I knew to succeed, even from my mom, my role model. I started my career as a student developer, and 14 years later became a tech lead in a promising high-tech company. Over time, I became an architect specializing in infrastructure, cloud architecture, and application security. Over the past decade, I have worked with engineering leaders to define and deliver highly scalable and secure SaaS solutions. After 23 years in our industry, I am more convinced than ever that women should not be afraid to put themselves forward. I recently celebrated my first year at Cellebrite by launching an innovative product that is now already embedded in some of our products and will impact law enforcement organizations all over the globe".
We strive to be empowered by remarkable women all over the world. On this upcoming International Women's Day, and throughout March, we will honor a handful of our talented women and spotlight their journey. This is Claire Labuschagne’s story: "Patrick, my high school sweetheart, and I struggled to find jobs in South Africa. We dreamed of success overseas. We sold all we had and moved to the UK in 2021 with only £500. Fast forward to 2023, we've been married for 19 years, have 2 healthy, beautiful children. My mother has always been my biggest role model. She beat the odds as a single parent and raised three strong, independent, and courageous women. She continues to inspire me daily. After many bumps along the road, I earned my first job in sales. I built resilience, strategic thinking, and confidence throughout my career - all essential qualities needed in my field. These qualities helped me join the EMEA sales team, where I grow and nurture our relationship with the UK Defence Sector. I believe women should build each other up so we can thrive".
