Pros

Cafes in the area are nice, the Mexican restaurant across the road has great food, Nice pub a few blocks away.

Cons

Before I start– I would like to point out that I also blame myself, I ignored the warning signs during my interview and I ignored the bad reviews. I was told by management and the CEO that this was an exciting work place. In short, many people including myself were blindsided. However I decided to stay, I initially believed that iGoDirect would be a good service to be apart of. However I soon discovered that this was at great cost that being the souls sucked dry of talented employees. The team across the entire business had drawn to same conclusion; they are on edge thinking they will be fired and the toxic CEO lacks any desired leadership qualities to lead the team. With talented staff being hired, the CEO would go on to not trust them to do the very job that they were hired for, staff members would be unapologetically undermined, discouraged, and in some cases literally not be addressed by their correct first name which clearly signifies a lack of respect. This is not a ‘nit picking’ review, a number instances could have been forgiven and could even have been forgotten. However, the CEO would in most cases make passive comments about non favored individuals in team meetings or just outright embarrass them in front of the entire company. This business has a history of very devoted employees that would put plans in place, make the business highly productive and profitable, but for some reason once this is achieved those staff members are not rewarded but instead removed from the company and replaced by less experienced junior members of the team, to the CEO, this is progress. Those junior employees who are under qualified would soon become over worked, under paid, chastised repeatedly and then expected to bring in the same result as their departed predecessors. With this trend continuing for years on end and the naivety of senior management, it would suggest no catharsis in site. It’s comes as no surprise that this company has had an incredibly high staff turnover. In fact, corporations as large as Telstra and Optus is a complete picnic compared to this small business with their turnover.

Pros

The actual working staff are wonderful. There is parking for free.

Cons

The fact that some of Australia’s largest companies work with this company is staggering, if they knew and were aware of the high staff turnover, completely ineffective ‘leadership’ team (who just try to save their own jobs), who are terrified of a truly toxic CEO, and read these reviews, surely they would not want their brands associated with this place? I had read the reviews before I started working there and pinned my hopes on the two ‘good’ reviews in this list. My mistake. Those ‘good’ reviews have not been written by anyone who has actually had to work here as a staff member. Every single review that is one star, mentions toxic culture of upper management is completely correct and authentic. Yes, this place will teach you to have a thick skin, and it will teach you resilience, however these skills are taught through fear. Constant fear of the wrath of the CEO as its IGo legend that you only have to make one mistake and your days are numbered, which leads to a constant fear of being fired as you have to watch staff member after staff member leave because of ‘redundancy’ (igo speak for someones upset the CEO) or they just buckle under the systemic toxicity that comes from the to and get out for absolute self preservation. The mid level staff try their best to protect juniors and newbies, however this also just puts them in the firing line. This is a company that thoroughly encourages staff to throw each other under the bus to protect themselves, it’s absolutely disgusting, and they call it ‘leadership’. I am just glad I was able to leave on my own terms.
