Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We regret to read about the challenges that you raised in 2019, namely: ‘the building site inside a container for months’, ‘awful senior management’ and ‘embarrassment to the EU’. Your feedback on the work environment, our leadership and the diversity of nationalities is important to us. Since your review, eu-LISA has experienced growth and improvement as an organisation. First of all, during the last years, eu-LISA growth is reflected in the increase in our workforce. We are committed to establishing an office environment where everyone feels comfortable, fostering creativity, and facilitating productivity. As part of our ongoing expansion, the extension of our main site is currently in progress. In the meanwhile, we are utilizing a temporary facility situated in an office park, which is less than a 10-minute drive from the main site. Secondly, we focus on creating a work environment that thrives on inclusivity, and respect. Therefore, we are continuously reviewing our leadership practices to ensure that our management team is supportive, approachable, and capable of leading by example. Thirdly, enhancing the diversity of nationalities within our organization is one of our central priorities. We are committed to continuing to foster a workplace that reflects a broad spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives, as we believe this enriches our culture and strengthens our team. We are here to listen and collaborate on creating a better work environment for everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate hearing that our salary and holiday package contribute to a positive employment experience. However, we regret to read about the challenges that you have encountered in 2018, including the management style, HR vision and decision making process. Since your review, eu-LISA has continued to develop and improve. First of all, we are interested in how our employees feel about the management dynamic. We aim to foster an environment of open communication and mutual respect. Therefore, your feedback is valuable as we continuously work to improve and create a workplace culture where employees feel safe and empowered to express their opinions, take risks, and innovate without the fear of negative consequences. Secondly, eu-LISA’s HR vision outlines the long-term aspirations and strategic objectives of the Human Resources unit. The objectives are every year reviewed, adjusted, and communicated. Lastly, we recognise the importance of a smooth decision-making process. We have recently implemented agile working methodologies within various eu-LISA units to improve efficiency and productivity.

The quintessential EU corruption and bad management

Pros

Your mental and physical health is paid off with ridiculously high salaries and perks

Cons

The agency represents everything EU skeptics argue:a waste of money (none of the programs were delivered on time), a mysoginist culture fueled by military inspired "management" approach, a massive presence of only certain nationalities (representation apparently does not matter there). Employees who do not fall under someone's protection are belittled, used to cover up wrongdoings, threatened, and reminded that there is always someone more powerful than them. Employees evaluations are done with a systematic 6 to 9 months delay, and objectives often given 5 to 6 months into the contract. The HR department is a joke, filled with typical bureaucrats unable to move past the "blue ink VS. Black ink" dilemma. Technology wise, it was incredible to see how far back this place is, even though it is supposed to build it systems for eu Horrible work culture, harassment cases all over the place, the entire management complicit and very often directly involved in above said harassment.
