Pros

Used to have great career opportunities and quick promotions. Ablity to be truly remote is a good thing though the NYC tax law is a huge pain.

Cons

This company has all the politics and cutthroat culture of a hedgefund without the big salaries and bonuses. You will be undermined, gaslit, and made to feel inferior by leaders. You will be misled about changes like layoffs and hiring and talked down to and discarded when you burn out. The hr team can’t or won’t help. It’s hard to know if they’re ineffective or just clueless. They just do stay interviews and surveys that never lead to anything. Avoid the revenue team. The most senior head of the team the cro constantly belittles everyone around him. Everyone knows it and no one does anything the people who report to him disappear from the company or rush to report to someone else. Save yourself the headache and just look elsewhere.

Pros

Work from home options are good

Cons

When I shared with managers that I was working 100+ hour weeks and my mental health was suffering, a senior manager told me to work more if I wanted to keep my job. I quit and I'm now making more money working half the hours. Don't kill yourself for work - work somewhere else. Also, check out how many 5-star reviews are written by employees with a tenure less than 1 year. That's because managers pressure you to write a 5-star review in your first month, when you're excited about the job. Very cultlike startup vibe. Don't fall for it. EDIT: After I posted this review, Glassdoor took it down and Yipitdata contacted my directly to ask me to remove it. I won't do that and I stand by everything I wrote.

YipitData Response

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience at the company with us. What you’ve described is not aligned with our values. We firmly believe that no employee should be working at the expense of their mental health. We always encourage employees to take advantage of our unlimited PTO, and company benefits to alleviate any stresses they might be facing. Additionally, we never encourage employees to reach out to ask for a post to be removed. We take the honest feedback on Glassdoor to heart and value the opinions shared here because it helps us improve. We’re currently tracking the PTO balances of our employees so that our People Ops team can enforce employees taking time off to reduce burnout. Though we’re disappointed you didn’t enjoy your time at Yipit, we’re happy to hear you’ve found a role better aligned with your goals. Best of luck! Regards, YipitData

Pros

Flexibility for personal emergencies and regular training sessions, and opportunities for skill enhancement.

Cons

Working at YipitData was an absolute nightmare, and I wouldn't wish the experience on my worst enemy. Where do I even begin with this disaster of a company? First and foremost, the management is completely incompetent. They have no idea how to lead a team or foster a positive work environment. Instead of providing guidance and support, they micromanage every aspect of your work, breathing down your neck every step of the way. It's suffocating and demoralizing. The company culture is toxic, to say the least. There's a pervasive sense of elitism and superiority among the employees, fueled by management's favoritism and blatant disregard for anyone who doesn't fit into their narrow definition of success. The workload is completely unreasonable. You're expected to work long hours with no recognition for your efforts. It's a recipe for burnout, and it's no wonder that turnover is sky-high at this company.
