Pros

Really fun place to work and comes with a ton of perks like no other office I've worked at before. There's a fully stocked kitchen, Starbucks coffee, Espresso, snacks, Yoga room with free classes and even a nap room. They really try to make it as nice as possible to be at the office and have succeeded at that! The team works together well and other employees try to help each other out. The training (although it's been a while) was done very well and they give you the necessary tools to get up and running. Also, the pay is at the top range of the spectrum with benefits being covered and a lot of other perks! A LOT!

Cons

There is very little leadership, the people that have been put in leadership roles lack the experience and know how to really grow the company. They started out as a Gmail tool and tried to make the jump to more corporate clients with an Outlook product that has really not done well. They laid off A LOT of people without any warning, showing little care for their employees, as well as a lack of job security helped to create a bad culture in the workplace. Many people that started here a year or more ago are now gone. You know something is wrong when you have not one but two VP of Sales leave, and two Directors of Sales leave the firm all within a year and a half, as well as most of the Mid-Market and Enterprise sales team and most hires over the last year. Only one or two salespeople have gotten close to quota, with most not selling anything at all for months. Due to this, the sales team has shrunk in half or even less and the development team also is hurting with many of the senior devs leaving for different opportunities. First Marketing was blamed for bad leads, then sales for not following up, etc, etc. I wouldn't recommend joining this team until some real changes have been made.

Pros

Great company to work for unless you are in the sales department. Great perks and benefits. Great CEO

Cons

Do not work in the sales department! It is different from every other department in the company. The VP claims if you work a typical work day and leave before 7 pm you have not done your job. We use to have flexibility we could come in and leave pretty much when we wanted to. Now you are looked at as a slacker if you work a regular work day. There is favoritism across the board in sales. A select few are given premier accounts and then praised for being the best when they were GIVEN the best accounts. Meanwhile other sales people struggle to get a fair shot. The culture is set in sales for only a select few to succeed and they come to work when they want and leave when they want while everyone else is made to think they need to work 12 hour days

Pros

Great benefits. Free lunch. Yoga. Massages. Great coffee machine.

Cons

If you are reading this, then you're probably applying or thinking about interviewing right now. It is my civic duty to let the world know: they are going to paint you a pretty picture, but do not believe the hype. Sales here is the most devious, two-faced environment I've ever seen. They've had to wipe out their sales team multiple times, and the effects of that are terrible for morale. The 'leadership' team makes decisions, but how can those decisions be good when they have no practical knowledge? "Success" here is determined by how hard to brown-nose your superiors and this will also determine which accounts you are given, and ultimately, your success.

[From our current COO:] As the person responsible for sales when this review was written, I want to address several points the reviewer brings up. We haven't done anything resembling "wiping out" the sales team since I've been here. What we *have* done is de-emphasize a sub-scale remote location, let people go for material violations of company policy, and parted ways with reps who were unable to consistently hit revenue and activity targets. Leads are distributed equitably via round robin and fortunately we have a lot of them to distribute. Our objective is to build a diverse, high-achievement sales team, free of bro-culture. Ultimately, sales at Yesware is about results and the reality is that it's not for everyone.
