Pros

Really not a good time to work here with all the changes going on very uptight atmosphere!

Cons

No job security due to the merger and project "impact" basically can be fired at any moment. Management not giving any answers bad economy.

Pros

A large company with the resources to get what is necessary done. Some truly excellent people working here.

Cons

Lack of respect for employees. Unwillingness to allow for personal initiative. Too much of a holdback to the older ways of doing business. Far too much incompetence at more senior (but not executive) levels within the organization. An R&D strategy that simply did not work over the past 7 years, and a failure to recognize and act on it before it was too late. An overly optimistic perspective of the pipeline

Pros

For the most part, great people to work with. I find most Wyeth employees to be honest, hard working people. There are quite a number of intelligent employees, and quite a few with winning personalities. Sometimes, the two meet. The benefits are quite good, overall. The salaries are high compared to to other industries, but this includes Pharma as a whole. I have found my managers to be interested in my development and career goals, alas, the opportunities in a down-sizing industry limit the opportunity for upward movement. I think Wyeth is interested in improving itself, and is taking strides to do so.

Cons

Uncertainty, lack of upward opportunity. The lack of communication in the last two down-sizings left many people in a prolonged state of anxiety for months. It is difficult to look ahead when you are constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if the axe will fall on your neck. Or looking for your next job while trying to perform the one you have because , again, you don't know if you will have a job. Knowing that the same consultants who were paid miliions in the 90's advocating expanded sales forces are now making millions recommending that the same sales forces be down sized.
