Pros

- People are generally kind to one another. - Many people have been on their brand or in their role for a long time which means they can also act as a great resource for new team members. - Lots of new people generally means there is a lot of excitement and optimism for the future. - Really great team members, everyone bonds over how crazy / insane of a work environment it is.

Cons

- Leadership is extremely unorganized, they can't set clear priorities and are very involved in the day to day, impacting even the smallest decisions at the brand level - Zero work life balance - The company is split across 3 time zones with the majority of brands based in Europe, the CEO and some teams in New York, and other key functions like HR based in the US on the west coast. It is chaotic, and contributes to the longer work hours and disorganization at every level. - This company is systemically understaffed. Not only are there are entire departments missing but even the teams that are in place do not have enough support to function as they should. - Benefits are not competitive with others in the beauty industry. - There is no gratis program or product gifted, even on the brand you work on, the only option is for employees to purchase product with the discount that they offer. - The job description you receive during the interview process does not align with the job you will be doing after you are hired. - Open roles remain unfilled for indefinite periods leaving those on teams with immense workloads but no additional compensation. - Not a modern company, many processes are dated making it hard to affect change.

Pros

There are pockets of good work-life balance, fair compensation if you’re hired under the right team, and a few nice colleagues who make daily life more tolerable.

Cons

Leadership lacks both vision and consistency, with strategies that seem to change weekly, often with no adherence to any long-term plan. Management has demonstrated an alarming inability to lead effectively, treating employees as expendable resources in a poorly conceived, chaotic environment. The recent reorganization was especially revealing: they let talented people go without a clear strategy in place, only to then turn to the organization for input on creating a plan. Was there no plan to begin with? Leadership turnover is equally concerning, with frequent reshuffling into new roles or, worse, an influx of former L'Oréal employees. Despite employee engagement scores that show deep dissatisfaction, leadership appears to ignore these results, driven more by personal agendas and anticipated bonus payouts than by genuine improvement of the workplace. With rumors of either a sale or IPO, any prospective buyer or Wall Street analyst should take a close look at this operation. What they’ll find is a skeleton crew stretched to its limits, with no cohesive strategy in place. A buyer should prepare for a complete overhaul: leadership, strategy, portfolio diversification, and the company’s operational structure all require serious rethinking. New ownership will also have to contend with major accounts and salon owners who are likely to greet yet another change with a eye rolls.

Pros

Beautiful campus. Ok benefits. Some great colleagues.

Cons

High turnover. Empty positions are never filled. Not promoting from within. No clear career path. Overworked and moody employees. Manipulative and dishonest management who plays favoritism.
