Pros
- People are generally kind to one another. - Many people have been on their brand or in their role for a long time which means they can also act as a great resource for new team members. - Lots of new people generally means there is a lot of excitement and optimism for the future. - Really great team members, everyone bonds over how crazy / insane of a work environment it is.
Cons
- Leadership is extremely unorganized, they can't set clear priorities and are very involved in the day to day, impacting even the smallest decisions at the brand level - Zero work life balance - The company is split across 3 time zones with the majority of brands based in Europe, the CEO and some teams in New York, and other key functions like HR based in the US on the west coast. It is chaotic, and contributes to the longer work hours and disorganization at every level. - This company is systemically understaffed. Not only are there are entire departments missing but even the teams that are in place do not have enough support to function as they should. - Benefits are not competitive with others in the beauty industry. - There is no gratis program or product gifted, even on the brand you work on, the only option is for employees to purchase product with the discount that they offer. - The job description you receive during the interview process does not align with the job you will be doing after you are hired. - Open roles remain unfilled for indefinite periods leaving those on teams with immense workloads but no additional compensation. - Not a modern company, many processes are dated making it hard to affect change.
