The promise is great. It should all have come together a long time ago. But the organization is dragged down by inexperienced and completely ineffective leadership who treats this like a student project. The same things get done over and over again and forward progress is never really made because there is no real plan. You realize eventually that the means is the end, just like back in grad school and that there just isn't that much substance under the hype. Turnover has been pretty high and it seems like anybody with experience who might be able to make a plan leaves out of frustration. ED thinks he has all the answers, is deceptive and manipulative. Ideas that aren't his are squashed by saying it’s not mission aligned or that it’s not relevant because, you guess it, it’s been done before and what would you know. Or he'll agree and then ignore it. If you like getting a paycheck to do nothing worthwhile and don't mind not having ideas of your own or being able to actually do your job, you might find this a nice place to work. Otherwise you'll find it sad and frustrating.
