Pros

There is no benefit to working here.

Cons

I have never before worked in a company where the morale is so low. If there is such a thing as a business plan, it must have been devised by Bergholt Stuttley Johnson. The same management team which spectacularly failed to support and turn around the business when it traded as Lloyd's Register Energy is still in place and still has no idea what to do. Former LR staff are leaving in droves and taking their expertise with them. Not surprising when you read the contract conditions: "Your normal working hours are 36.25 per week on Mondays to Fridays and such additional hours including at weekends or during public holidays as are necessary for the proper performance of your duties. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE FURTHER REMUNERATION IN RESPECT OF WORK DONE DURING ANY ADDITIONAL HOURS". This has resulted in massive work overloads on the remaining staff, and no incentive to recruit if the company gets the work done without having to pay for it. Modern slavery, anyone? Work-life balance? Forget it. Your children think you have died as they never see you. Your wife is having an affair as she never sees you either, or if she does you are so exhausted as to be essentially useless. Some may ask how individuals so totally lacking in human empathy can hope to keep this business afloat when they treat their employees this way. Training? Don't make me laugh. Reward for success? Don't make me laugh. Salary increases? Don't make me laugh - always well below inflation so the longer you stay the less you earn. Non-discriminatory? Don't make me laugh - if it ends in "ism", they do it. The business investors have a track record of pulling out after 3 years. We are well into the second year of operation now, so long-term employment should not be expected. I could not, in all honesty, recommend working for this employer even to my worst enemy. If I could give it a negative star rating, I would.

Pros

Still no benefits to working here.

Cons

Company uses employees' personal bank accounts as an interest-free loan facility - business expenses are not paid promptly, but same as if we were a business in their supply chain (30 days, or more in some instances). Salaries not in line with job titles. Salary scales forcibly degraded to the point where we can't afford to make decent pension payments. Salaries now 25% - 30% less than they were 10 years ago, so don't expect to be able to buy your own home. Company no longer has the resources to deliver on existing contracts after mass-exodus of former LR employees. Another reviewer on this site suggested the CEO won a competition for the position. I disagree. There surely cannot have been any conscious comparison with another individual - more likely he won it in a raffle.
