Pros

- Daily lunch allowances (you get 6,50 € per day) - Stock options - The diversity of the Berlin team

Cons

I don't get all the good reviews because from the inside it's a pretty toxic and bad working environment: - People get fired from one day to another, or sometimes after months of being bullied by their managers. HR is aware but they tend to support the toxic managers. Therefore you mostly work with colleagues who are either depressed, lost, or in burnout. Many people left Vinted with PTSD, and the inability to work for a while afterward … - The company’s mission and values are only for attracting talent and for marketing purposes. From the inside those values are also only used to evaluate you (they are using those values to rate you during your evaluation, eg. Did you take enough ownership? Did you care enough? Did you aim high), but at no point did we get an explanation about what it means to "care" or to "aim high" at Vinted, so you are rated on a very arbitrary way. - There's also a big cultural shock between the Berlin office and the headquarters in Vilnius. You are more protected if you're Lithuanian and working from the main office. Other offices tend to be forgotten and people are more likely to get fired (hence the general sadness of the Berlin office). There are also issues of communication with the HQ, not everyone is fluent in English and also people tend to be quite rude during meetings or over Slack. - Strong lack of diversity (all their talks about diversity are very shallow, inauthentic, and sometimes even quite offensive!), for example, the top management is at 95% composed of men. They are also about to open a new office in Lithuania, this is not sending the message that they want to improve their lack of diversity. - Very hard to grow, people tend to get stuck in their positions with no opportunities to grow. - Lots of office politics, this is the only way to survive in this company. If you are looking for a company where you can be yourself, where you will feel happy at work, this isn’t the one. - Strong legacy: people who are in there for ages (so mainly from the HQ) have titles such as "senior" or "senior director". For newcomers, despite having lots of experience it will be hard for you to get similar titles. All in all: They attract you with fancy values, an attractive mission but the reality is pretty harsh.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are committed to sustaining a culture that is open, inclusive, and provides equal opportunity for all employees to realise their full potential. We apologise for your experience. At Vinted, we want to make secondhand the first choice worldwide. Everyone receives intensive onboarding to our company's mission, vision, and core values when joining our company. In addition, our core values were developed through a transparent, bottom-up process that took a variety of perspectives into consideration. On our internal intranet, employees can read about the evolution of our mission, vision, and values. In addition, as you mentioned, we use our core values to operate feedback cycles in which the meaning of our core values is reiterated. Moreover, there are globally fair promotion and salary review cycles benchmarked to industry standards. Furthermore, to ensure that every employee feels welcome and celebrated, we established a Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DEI) team charged with implementing a global strategy that will serve as the foundation for future endeavours. This also includes aligning our offices across locations and increasing our efforts to create an even more inclusive environment for all our employees worldwide. We started our DEI journey some time ago and have now established long-term targets, measurements, and internal communities to encourage conversations, exchange, and collaboration among our global team. This journey takes time and effort from everyone, but we are dedicated to making a positive change and are proud of our progress. As a Vinted employee, you are always welcome to contact the people team promptly for assistance. In the unlikely event that you do not feel comfortable contacting the people team directly, we have implemented a whistleblower platform that allows you to raise concerns and issues anonymously. We care about our employees' mental welfare. Currently, we provide employees with complimentary and subsidised mental health counselling and therapeutic sessions. For our offices outside of Lithuania, we implemented an additional employee assistance programme with trained counsellors who are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and in all local languages. In addition, you mentioned our sustainability initiatives. Recently, we published a comprehensive study detailing our sustainability commitments. The full report can be downloaded on our corporate website. Please contact us at glassdoor@vinted.com if you would like to elaborate on your feedback and we can investigate your case further internally. Best wishes, The Vinted People Team

Pros

nice values on paper and advertising jobs.

Cons

- Toxic management, especially in tech. - if you do your job but don't become a 'buddy' with manager/director, forget about better raise/position. - sexism. - engineering manager who have no clue what they're doing, there were some QA managers who were so out of touch and had 0 knowledge on things, every interaction was super stressful. (felt like they only got their position because they had friends in higher places) - Vilnius office always has upper hand, if you're a foreigner and in a different office (Berlin/Amsterdam) your voice won't be heard and you will be considered second-class worker. Bottom line - DO NOT APPLY THERE.

Psychological bullying, Inexperienced leads and directors, NO diversity

Pros

- The Berlin and Amsterdam teams are very nice and welcoming (less the case in Vilnius) - The office managers are very nice and welcoming. - Some of the projects are really interesting (but take too long to go live unfortunately).

Cons

I was not expecting this when I joined Vinted. The company has a somewhat good reputation, and I really don't know how is this even possible. - When I joined, I heard a lot of people telling me they had at least one burnout since they started working at Vinted (I should have taken this as a big red flag) - If you are experiencing psychological bullying from your manager, just know that NOBODY will try to help. Once this happens you will be alone. - Leads and Directors are mostly inexperienced, and there are clear favouritism happening. Moreover, there are no clear strategic directions from top management. - They are VERY RISK averse. There is NO space for creative thinking. - There is no recognition either, you work on projects for years and then you don't even get a thank you from your manager or top management. - A lot of people work at night and during the weekends. - The process for raises and promotions is not fair, eventhought they claim it is. Many people have complained about it but there have been no changes. - NO DIVERSITY NO INCLUSIVITY you have to go to zoom conferences to learn about how diverse Vinted is or wants to be but there are no changes happening. 95% of the company is from Vilnius, white people, and mostly men in top management. When there are issues, the Vilnius office is always right. - They claim mental health matter for them because they offer free access to an app, but mental health should also be a priority for Leads and Directors. The app is just a plaster to help people, but it does not resolve the internal problems that are happening. Leads and Director are aware that many people experience burn outs but they don't change.
