Pros

- Gain experience - Company is growing - Free water and fruits

Cons

Very unpleasant working environment: - Extra hours are expected and have to be done in order to manage the often huge workload, but extra hours are not paid/no days off in return. - No flexibility of working times. Even if there are periods of little work staff has to stay and do nothing/read internal procedures. - Lunch break is exactly one hour, you cannot leave/come back 10 minutes earlier/later. - Generally low employee appreciation and as a consequence extremely high employee turnover (people should just "function"). - Hierarchic, bureaucratic and therefore often inefficient structures. - Low salaries and introduction of "non-competition-clause" in order to legally prevent employees from leaving and working for competitors - Saving on everyone and everything possible, which results in slow PCs and other IT issues - Dirty toilets

Pros

-A basket of fruits on Mondays; -legal/collective agreements' minimums like 50% Navigo reimbursed, meal vouchers (the lowest value possible), mutuelle. -Few genuinely nice and hard-working colleagues at a junior level who deserve better.

Cons

-Benefits are close to non-existent. The company treats employees as casual employees with low-skill levels and does the minimum to keep them happy. -Salaries are 20-50% less than the industry and function average in Paris. -Regular overtimes. -High workload. -No payment of overtime even though there is a clock in - clock out system and salaries are paid on an hourly basis. -No bonus policy (13th salary, Christmas, summer holidays, nothing). -Bonuses are rare, if non-existent, and are only given at the CEO’s discretion. -No RTT up to a manager lever. -No holiday spanning for more than 2 weeks is allowed for anyone. -Even taking 1h off from work requires email approval from a number of supervisors. -Basic legal minimums on everything. -They are hiring experienced people with graduate education, but don't give them any independence in dealing with their own clients. -Absolutely useless internal procedures, requiring a huge amount of wasted effort and time and only used as a tool of internal control. -Disrespecting and humiliating management culture (rudeness and even raising one's voice is common). -High Turnover - people constantly come and go. -Key roles are consistently open on a company’s web site and reported on social professional networks without candidates applying. -New hires often resign within a few days after being hired. -Several long-term employees (for VAT System’s standards) having mental breakdowns and quitting. -Low morale in employees. NOTE: I'm sharing my experience as a consultant in the COMPLIANCE & CONSULTING department, which covers up to 70-80% of the company's staff and activities.
