Pros

The fully remote work environment coupled with a flexible schedule and a high level of autonomy have made this a pretty decent place to work overall. Benefits could be better but they're not terrible. Coworkers are generally polite and intelligent.

Cons

UD was great when crypto and the economy were booming, however the way they're handling a rough market - and during rough times is when leadership matters most; it's easy to "lead" during good times - shows they don't care about their employees. There were 5+ rounds of layoffs (despite the first round being sold as "a big layoff now so we don't do anymore later", a statement that leadership subsequently took no accountability for when it turned out not to be true) and the company halved in size in less than six months. At this point people live in fear of waking up to yet another round of layoffs no matter what leadership says and morale is extremely low. It's understandable that layoffs happen in a rough market, but leadership just doesn't seem to care at all about the people laid off or the effect on company morale of almost half a dozen rounds of layoffs in as many months. Instead they keep rambling on about "digital identity" and acting impatient with questions about the RIFs. It really doesn't inspire my confidence that the company will actually be able to navigate this market effectively. They're acting from a place of panic and callous disregard for people, not from a place of calm, thoughtful decision making.

Pros

Extremely flexible and great compensation Concerned about employee’s growth outside of the job, not just on the job Lots of feedback sessions with management team, can tell that they are trying to engage the team and do better Amazing hires and everyone on the team is extremely competent and capable

Cons

The company is growing very quickly and trying to set processes but some things remain messy Core team is focused on product building but more focus can be put into community building and customer engagement/happiness. You can build the best product but if you’re not listening to what your customers want and need, the product will not be mass adopted. More communication needed across departments and between management and the rest of the team. Company is trying very hard to build culture but it’s still disjointed as team members are too scattered around the globe.

Pros

Unstoppable Domains is building decentralized identity for Internet. User ownership & user control of their data and identity, are key underlying principles that drive everything the company does. The company has been thoughtful about protecting names for brands, and celebrities, rather than selling them to squatters. The roadmap of integrations and support for our naming service is amazing (more than 500,000,000 people will be able to interact with our naming service through apps, wallets and exchanges they already have by the end of 2021!). The business is profitable, and Q1 2021 was a "Coinbase Quarter". The growth targets are very aggressive, but are being consistently exceeded. The quality of individuals joining the team has significantly raised the bar and is really impressive. Compensation is high, allowing the company to recruit very senior talent from some of the "marquee" companies, who bring a high level of execution, discipline and maturity to such a small organization which will allow us to rapidly scale. The ability to work cross functionally, drive change and see your ideas implemented and come to life is incredibly high. If you like autonomy and a fast pace, you'll be very happy here.

Cons

This is a ~50 person startup that's doing more revenue than 99% of 200 person companies. There's a lot of change, internal communication is still messy, and many processes & systems are being built out. Expectations are high, and the hours that go along with it. The company has dozens of roles open across virtually all departments, which means we're always stretched.
