The team is great, the other people working here are awesome. The offices are very chic.

Cons

The company is very poorly run, and feels like we are independent contractors who work under the same roof. There is no transparency into projects, no feedback is given, no design reviews, and the development team is mainly in Iceland and feels like a separate company. The CEO will uni-laterally decide things with no reasoning, and i understand it is his company but it feels mean sometime. the projects often kind of suck to be honest, a lot of marketing page redesigns and the CEO decides all of this without any imput from anyone else.

A warm, fuzzy culture that feels easy to fit into on the surface (but lacks depth once you find yourself looking for it) Amazing snacks! Tremendously kind, generous, really good people Pretty impressive list of logos to have in your portfolio

Cons

Ueno, like much of the design community in the Bay (and beyond), is a place where white men excel. Promotions, leadership opportunities, and leadership as a whole are tremendously lacking in diversity. And that makes it a less than inviting place if you happen to not be white. We talk a big game, espouse to be liberal and progressive, but the headshots don't lie. On the work front, we design beautifully. But often that design doesn't serve a real purpose or make a big impact in people's lives.
